At Rey Homes we are aware of our current need to move forward towards greener, more energy efficient materials in order to preserve our environment and fight back the effects of man-made pollution. That is why we have taken steps to ensure that our homes play as naturally as possible with their surrounding environments by using Energy Star rated construction materials and appliances.
As for our appliances, everything from our GE refrigerators to the dishwashers, washing machines and hot water heaters are all Energy Star rated. Energy Star is a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency voluntary program that helps businesses and individuals protect our climate through high energy efficiency. The Energy Star program has developed a performance rating system for determining the energy efficiency of building and industrial plants, which are used by manufacturing and energy managers.
We also use Tyvek as a vapor barrier on the exterior of the wood framed second floors to prevent the infiltration of air and water, while allowing water vapor to escape to prevent rot and mold inside the walls. Our HVAC units are Carrier and Lennox heat pump units. Both are Energy Star rated and are 15 SEER. The SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) measures air conditioning and heat pump cooling efficiency.
Our included Kichler lighting fixtures are also Energy Star rated. These standards continue to mature and will continue to increase the demand for Energy Star qualified lighting.
